The high-performance heatsink for high-TDP processors. ProLiant servers ship with one of two heatsinks: standard or high-performance. The standard one copes to roughly 135 W; above that the processor reaches its thermal limit and throttles itself. The problem is that this **raises no error**. The server boots, it runs, no light turns red — your 2.5 GHz processor simply sits at 1.8 GHz under sustained load. You paid for performance you never receive, and the only way to notice is to watch the actual clock under load. If you are ordering something like a Gold 6248R (205 W), a Platinum 8280 or a Gold 6430, you need both this kit and the high-performance fan kit. Supplied with thermal compound pre-applied. Compatible with Gen9 / Gen10 / Gen11.
