HPE 2.5" SFF Smart Carrier (SC) Hot-Plug

A caddy is the tray that holds a 2.5-inch drive in a server’s hot-plug bay and mates it with the backplane. Without one the drive simply will not seat — it is not a matter of fitting badly. This is the Smart Carrier (SC) variant, used across ProLiant Gen8 to Gen10. The dual LED on the handle reports drive and RAID-array state — the same light that tells you which disk to pull when one fails. One detail that costs money to get wrong: the Smart Carrier and the Gen10-and-later Basic Carrier (BC) are **not interchangeable**. If you run a Gen10, confirm which one you need before ordering; they look similar and are easy to confuse. Supplied new, with the drive screws included. Compatible with Gen8 / Gen9 / Gen10.
