About this tool
TTFB (time to first byte) is the most honest measure of server speed: the gap between the browser's request and the first byte of the response. This tool breaks the whole journey down — DNS resolution, TCP connect, TLS handshake and the wait for the server — so you can see exactly where the slowness lives: DNS, geographic distance, the certificate, or the application itself. Under 200ms is excellent, 200–500ms acceptable, above 800ms slow. Google recommends staying under 600ms.
