What's the difference between 301 and 302?
A 301 is permanent and passes SEO equity to the target; a 302 is temporary and Google keeps the old URL. For a permanent move, always use 301.
How many chained redirects are acceptable?
The fewer the better; more than two hops signals messy configuration, and Google gives up entirely after about ten. Ideal: every old URL redirects straight to the final target.
What is a redirect loop?
When URL A sends to B and B back to A — the browser shows "too many redirects" and the page never opens. Usually caused by conflicting htaccess and CDN rules.
