HPE 1.8TB 12G 10K SAS 2.5" SFF

The HPE 1.8TB 12G 10K SAS 2.5" SFF is a 1.8 TB 10K rpm mechanical drive on a SAS 12G interface, for HPE ProLiant Gen9 / Gen10 / Gen11 servers. For archives, backups and large files a mechanical drive still delivers the cheapest gigabyte. Not for an OS volume or a database, where latency becomes the bottleneck. Two practical notes. First, the drive has to come in the caddy for its generation — the Gen8–Gen10 Smart Carrier and the Gen10-and-later Basic Carrier are not interchangeable, and a bare drive will not seat in a hot-plug bay. Second, in a RAID array every member should have the same capacity and speed; if one is smaller, the controller treats every disk as if it were that size. Every drive is SMART-checked and surface-tested before it ships, and its power-on hours are disclosed.
