The PSU is the component that fails most often in a server, and with two of them a failure is a red light rather than an outage. 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency is not just a label: it shows up in the server’s real power draw and in the heat your rack has to remove. Two compatibility notes: the Common Slot supply of the G6–Gen8 era and the Flex Slot supply from Gen9 onwards are not interchangeable. And if you fit two supplies of different wattage in one server, it will warn you and will not treat the redundancy as guaranteed.
